THE WOMAN BEHIND
THE LENS, Sarah.
If you can tolerate a chronic over-sharer and some moderate swearing, then the universe has brought you to the right side of the internet.
That’s me, over there in my pants - I thought it only fair I share more than just my cussing habits with you, if I want you to feel like you’re in a safe space.
I want to share a few things about myself that don’t involve the phrases ‘people-person’ or ‘I’ll be your number 1 cheerleader’. I mean, I am and I will, but you deserve more than that. So let’s go...
I’m a 40-something, neuro-spicy creative that happens to be married to a wonderful human being who has done more to nuture my self-esteem than I have managed in all my adult years. Let’s call him Freddie (mainly because that’s his name).
Hello,
I’m childfree by choice, an important part I often feel I need to share. And to be completely transparent, I’ve never had a single regret about that decision. Ironically, for the last 10 years I have had a very successful newborn photography business, which has been my baby in more ways than one.
Prior to photography, I was a Fashion Stylist for 10 years and probably walked the equivalent of 50 marathons, dragging a suitcase around London full of clothes and fancy shoes. I guess it was then, in my twenties, that the passion for documenting women and showing them their own true beauty really started.
I want women to invest in their legacy and show up for themselves - cos there ain’t no one else gonna do it for us, right? Life and beauty deserves to be celebrated, whether it’s through self-love and celebration, or a deeper self-reflection.
Visualise your highest self, then start showing up as her
your Narrative
Have you ever thought to yourself ‘I wish I had carved out space for myself sooner, but the time never felt right’? or maybe ‘I don’t want to get to 80 & wonder where all the years went - I want to look at photographs of myself and remember what a powerful woman I was’.
Heck, I know I don’t want to die not having seen and appreciated my true self, or appreciated just how beautiful and unique I really was.
At Narrative London, we believe your life is the most compelling story ever told - even amongst the mundane of everyday life that we lose ourselves in.
We don’t just take portraits; we archive your truth. Whether you are beginning a new chapter, honouring the legacy of the woman you’ve become, or finally stepping into the centre of the frame - this is your time to be seen and to be celebrated.
What’s at the core of Narrative London
Taking charge and re-writing toxic beliefs we’ve inherited about how we should look, how we should dress & how we should age!
Changing the narrative on ‘vanity’. Accepting that it’s incredibly powerful to invest in images for ourselves - and not just for the viewing pleasure of somebody else.
Providing a safe space where you have full permission to be seen, be yourself and to be celebrated in all your glory! Narrative is an all-female business that puts your privacy and safety at its core.
A belief that all women of all ages are encouraged to step in front of the camera and document themselves - if not for themselves, then for their daughters and their daughters’ daughters. Ladies, this is our legacy!!
